1st of May, International Workers’ Day, was celebrated in Cuba with mass demonstrations attended by millions across the country.
President Díaz‑Canel and the parliamentary commission firmly rejected the genocidal US policy against Cuba.
In order to make an initial assessment of the progress of the implementation of the Community Youth Network, an exchange took place between the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and youth and student leaders who are involved in various local initiatives.
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel and the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda participated on the 22nd of April morning in the event held at the party headquarters to support the #MiFirmaPorLaPatria initiative.
The Party issued a statement on the anniversary of the defence of socialism at Playa Girón. The statement said, “Heir to the revolutionary traditions of our people, the Communist Party of Cuba arrives at this April 16th with new motivations in defence of unity, the beautiful work of the Revolution and a historical legacy that already adds up to more than one hundred years of struggle.
That day – when the entire population came out to defend socialism on the sands of Playa Girón – is considered the founding date of our Party.”
