South African Communist Party holds bilateral meetings on upcoming ‘Conference of the Left’

The South African Communist Party (SACP) held meetings with the Pan African Congress (PAC) and the South African National Civic Organization (SANCO) in light of the upcoming ‘Conference of the Left’ as well as crucial matters of the nation.

Various affairs that impact the nation were discussed, and perspectives were exchanged on the urgent and critical matters on the table for the people of South Africa.

The SACP stated after the bilateral meeting with the PAC that they shared a liberation tradition between the two organizations and a shared commitment to defending the national liberation cause even in the present historical period and driving development for the oppressed masses while resisting neoliberalism and the conservative agenda.

The PAC confirmed its attendance and participation in the Conference of the Left to take place from 29 to 31 May 2026.

During the SACP-SANCO meeting, ongoing engagements to advance the National Democratic Revolution were discussed. After the meeting, the SACP shared a statement saying that SANCO is an organization rooted in the communities and that the SACP is working to deepen the cooperation with SANCO to ensure expanding their collaboration in community struggles. Two organizations agreed on further engagements regarding a possible participation of SANCO in the Conference of the Left.
