Communist Party of Venezuela protests relations with Israel

The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) organised a rally at Bolívar Square in Caracas in opposition to the restoration of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Israel.

Jackeline López, a member of the Political Bureau of the Party addressed the crowd. In her speech, she repudiated ongoing actions and agreements in Venezuela that surrender the country to Zionism, as well as North American and European imperialism. She said that these actions undermine the rights of Venezuelans and ignore the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

López criticized backroom deals and negotiation tables, specifically mentioning reconstruction agreements regarding La Guaira that exclude the Venezuelan working class. She highlighted that these agreements disregard workers' wages, salaries, and living conditions while allowing a process of colonization.

Speaking on behalf of the Encuentro Nacional en Defensa de los Derechos del Pueblo, she listed participating political and social groups, including:

  • Movimiento Clara Zetkin
  • Partido Comunista de Venezuela (PCV)
  • PPT-APR
  • Marea Socialista
  • Partido Socialismo y Libertad
  • Liga Internacional de los Trabajadores por el Socialismo

She emphasized that despite political differences, these groups share a class consciousness and patriotism. She called on working-class citizens, patriots, and Chavistas who uphold Hugo Chávez's legacy to form a united front through popular organization to defend national sovereignty and workers' rights.
