The TUDEH Party of Iran issued another statement on the imperialist aggression, entitled "The War Crimes of US Imperialism in its Third Military Aggression Against Iran and the Necessity of Confronting the Devastating Policy 'War, War Until Victory'"
TUDEH statement on warmongering
Dear Compatriots!
Once again, our homeland is facing grave danger as a result of a devastating war imposed by United States imperialism. The brutal attacks by the US military against Iran, including strikes on critical civilian infrastructure such as transportation bridges, railway lines, and airports; wheat storage silos in Hoveyzeh County; a bottled water production plant in the Musian district of Dehloran County; and the Chabahar maritime control tower, with the aim of disrupting assistance to fishermen and undermining the security of maritime trade, all constitute flagrant violations of international law and war crimes on the part of US imperialism. These crimes, along with multiple others carried out over recent days, have resulted in the deaths and maiming of a large number of our compatriots.
The latest round of US military attacks against Iran marks a new stage in imperialist policy in the region, a policy aimed at securing full control over the Strait of Hormuz and the region's strategic waterways in order to safeguard the strategic interests of US imperialism and Israel. It is clear that the warmongers in Washington and their allies in Israel's criminal government have, from the outset, opposed any negotiated settlement between Iran and the US and have sought a protracted and destructive war against Iran in order to destroy our country's infrastructure. Another grave danger arising from these renewed hostilities is that they could provide the pretext for a US imperialism ground invasion of Iran and the occupation of parts of the country's southern and oil-producing regions.
In an interview with the Joe Rogan Express podcast, US Vice President JD Vance claimed that a "covert and very expensive" campaign has been launched to derail US-Iran talks, organised by "Israeli actors" and that their goal is to continue the war with Iran "indefinitely".
It is abundantly clear that the "war profiteers" within Iran also oppose the "agreement" with the US and, by making exaggerated claims about Iran's military superiority, are in fact trying to rebuild the regime's destructive and anti-national policy of "War, War Until Victory" (during the war with Saddam's regime), a policy that ultimately caused devastation to our homeland with Khomeini eventually "drinking from a poisoned chalice" (accepting the UN Security Council Resolution 598, which ended the Iran-Iraq War on 20 July 1988) before going on to sign the fatwa for the massacre of thousands of political prisoners in the National Catastrophe of 1988. In the current context, according to Khabar Online News Agency, the Jomhuri Eslami (Islamic Republic) newspaper also warns about "war profiteers": "The recommendation to close Bab al-Mandab and the insistence on closing the Strait of Hormuz reveal the intentions of foreigners who present themselves as friends and allies. The country’s officials must seriously confront the infiltrators and agents of foreign governments and false actors in order to protect the country from the dangers of war and the negative consequences of extremism, so that Iran is not once again dragged to the brink of war."
The Tudeh Party of Iran stated in recent weeks that war and external threats provide the hardline core of power within the Islamic Republic with an opportunity to rebuild the weakened authority of a regime in crisis. For these forces, the continuation of military confrontations, within a framework that does not place the regime's survival at "existential" risk, creates favourable conditions for maintaining the current situation, including the suppression of any dissenting voices; the continuation of the disastrous socio-economic conditions imposed on millions of workers and toilers of our country; widespread poverty, deprivation and unemployment; electricity and water shortages; and the continuation of repression and executions under the pretext of wartime conditions inside the country.
The latest public opinion survey in Iran conducted by the Islamic Republic itself shows that the overwhelming majority of our people oppose the continuation of the war and the current situation and are seeking to reach an agreement and achieve an enduring peace.
In our view, the continuation of the current situation and the escalation of war and military operations are undoubtedly contrary to the national interests and serve the strategic policies of US imperialism and the criminal Israeli regime in the region.
Mobilising public opinion in Iran and around the world, and as working to end the destructive military confrontations of today, are among the most important responsibilities of the country's progressive and freedom-seeking forces. The efforts of these progressive and freedom-seeking forces to reflect the legitimate demands of the majority of the population, who have been pushed to their very limits by poverty and oppression, and to pave the way for a nationwide movement against war and warmongers, as well as against the aggressive policies of US imperialism and Israel in the region, whose ultimate aim is to perpetuate the current crisis and ultimately driving Iran towards new and devastating military confrontations, constitute an urgent and vital responsibility.
